No9 DRESS COMBAT TROPICAL 1970-1991



Introduced in 1972 to replace the 1950 pattern Olive Green and Jungle Green Tropical uniforms. Lightweight DPM Combats were known as "No 9 Dress Combat Tropical" This style of lightweight combats continued in service until the mid 1990's.

JACKET COMBAT TROPICAL



The jacket designated "Jacket Combat Tropical", 8415-99-132-3806 early pattern, and 8415-99-132-5134 later pattern, was similar in cut to a shirt and has epaulettes fitted to the shoulders.

The shirt has a zipped front with a button flap, and the sleeves have button cuffs. There is a large pocket on each breast, closed with a button-down flap, and a first field dressing pocket on one sleeve. This uniform was normally worn with a DPM bush hat; out of the field, regimental headdress was often worn.

The trousers, designated "Trousers Combat Tropical", had button down belt loops, one slash pocket on each hip, a rear pocket with buttoned flap, a cargo pocket on each leg, and a fly with zip and button closure.
